Dodge durango Hellcat owners sued Stellantis Group, accusing it of cheating consumers.

According to foreign media reports, seven owners of the 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat filed a class action lawsuit with the court last week, accusing the manufacturer Stellantis Group’s brand Dodge of false propaganda, deceiving consumers to buy the model at a high price, and claiming more than $5 million from the group.

According to the plaintiff, Stellantis initially said that the Hellcat model was only sold for one year, and they bought it at a high price, but today, two years later, the company said that it would sell the model again, which means that the company’s previous publicity was fraudulent.

It is reported that the Hellcat model was originally released in July 2020, with a price of $82,490, including freight. In January 2021, Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Stellantis’s Dodge, announced that the Hellcat model would be sold for a limited time of one year and limited to 2,000 vehicles. "This will ensure that it will be a very special and popular high-performance SUV in the next few years." Many buyers spent at least $114,000 on this model for fear of missing the opportunity.

But two years later, the group overturned the previous remarks and announced that it would sell the 2023 Hellcat model again. The plaintiff claimed that Dodge’s marketing method was a typical fraud, and they used deception to sell products at high prices. Car owners said that they bought Hellcats because the company claimed that they were limited edition models, so they didn’t choose other competing products.

A few days ago, a Stellantis spokesman said that the group had not discussed the lawsuit. According to Dodge, the Hellcat has a power output of 710 HP, making it "the most powerful SUV in the world at present."
